Tired Iron Slump Dump is an oversized moving diorama meant to be operated by two performers. The diorama is based on an animation that was made during the pandemic as an attempt to process and soothe the artist’s own personal burnout crisis, in the midst of world wide disaster and collective illness. Exploring grief, fatigue and delusion, the imagery invites catharsis through humor and abstraction, leaving the viewer to process their own version of pandemic conditions. “Tired iron” is an expression used by the aviation industry alluding to old airplanes that need to be retired.
